Our Team
Derek and Misty Goode are the proud owners of DFW Shutters. They have two children, a boy and a girl. They are heavily involved in their kids sports.
When Derek is not actively promoting DFW Shutters, you will most likely find him playing a cornhole tournament in the DFW Area, fishing, or traveling.
Misty no longer handles any day to day tasks for DFW Shutters, but is always working and supporting behind the scenes. You may catch her in the showroom, answering calls, or giving an in home consultation when the need arises when an employee is out.
Here at DFW Shutters, our philosophy and purpose can be summed up with Colossians 3:17
"And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

Our Owners
Molly relocated to Decatur, TX in 2020. She has been with us since we built our new factory in 2020. She comes to us with many years of experience in customer service. If you call our office, you will be greeted by Mrs. Molly. Molly will be able to help answer any questions you have as well as help schedule your appointments for a quote, invoicing, and installations. DFW Shutters would be lost without Molly.

Steven Gosnell came to DFW Shutters for the Houston area in 2017. Steven has previous experience in cabinet building and installation of glass in commercial building. With this expertise and experience, he understands the attention to detail that is needed for the installation of custom plantation shutters.

Welcome to DFW Shutters. We are glad you are here. DFW Shutters the leading shutter manufacturer in the DFW metroplex. We are devoted to ensuring that your custom shutters are everything you dreamed of and more. We design, manufacture, paint, and install all of our own product with wood that is sourced in the United States.
DFW Shutters originated in 2010 and was founded by Derek Goode. After working as an apprentice for another shutter manufacturer from the age of 16, Derek was able to learn all the skills in the trade and became the leader for the previous company. Derek started as a finish sander at the age of 16 and worked his way up in the company. He learned each and every step in the manufacturing process for plantation shutters. After many years working under the other company, it was time to start his own company.
Derek originally started in a small shop in Sanger, TX. Him and his wife were the only two people originally building shutters. Derek was a great marketer from the early going, and quickly needed to hire employees. The rapid growth caused DFW Shutters to quickly move into a 10,000 sq foot facility in Valley View, TX. They would continue working at this factory until the year 2015 when they decided it was time to build their own factory rather than lease property.
In 2015, DFW Shutters purchased land in the town of Krum, TX. They built a new factory and continued exponential growth. This factory was some what remote and was difficult for clients to visit the facility. DFW Shutters is continually looking for improvement and moved into a brand new facility in 2020 in Decatur, TX along major Highway 380. This is where DFW Shutters is currently located.

If you have every had an arch installed by DFW Shutters, then you know the attention to detail and the craftsmanship it takes to manufacture a custom arch shutter. All of our arches since we were founded, Jesus has had a hand in producing. Jesus worked with Derek, the owner, at the previous shutter company and was happy to follow him to DFW Shutters. They have worked hand in hand together since 2005.
Our Philosophy
Garrett Delong has been with DFW Shutters since February 2022. He came to DFW Shutters from an extensive sales and customer service background. He has been a great asset to the company. In his free time, he is involved in the training and riding of horses.
