How long have you been in business? What good is a companies lifetime warranty if they have only been in business a few years? Plantation Shutter companies go out of business quite frequently. Our company as been around for over 20 years. You want a shutter company that has withstood the downfalls of the economy and is still thriving. Where do your shutters come from? The majority of our competitors are dealers of plantation shutters rather than manufacturers. This is very important when selecting a plantation shutter provider. Companies that have middle men have inflated pricing to cover everyone's costs. Most shutter companies purchase your shutters from China. They take your dimensions and send them over to a manufacturer in China that will construct them and ship the back over here. Sometime it takes 8-12 weeks to receive your shutters this way. Many other "Dealers" use some other manufacturer and just mark up the price and sell them to you. Why not buy direct from the manufacturer and get wholesale pricing up front? Who is more of an expert in the shutter industry than the manufacturers themselves? A good rule of thumb is if the company sales blinds, shutters, shades and many different types of window treatments then they are just a dealer and not a manufacturer for shutters!
